Filmed over six weeks resulting in over 1.5TB of raw footage from locations such as New York, Indianapolis, Chicago, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Montreal.

I was in the mood for a little (and simple) experiment. I shot a short video yesterday on my way from the woodshop — I was waiting for a train at the Gamla Stan station. This is what I did; I extracted the raw video file from my iPhone 4S using PhoneView, I then uploaded the untouched video to both YouTube and Vimeo. I did this so that I could easily compare the two. It’s also a chance to see how the iPhone is coping with a semi-tricky lighting situation; light outside the station, lights in the ceiling and the approaching headlights from the subway train. That’s about it for this post.

Got an iPhone 4S yesterday and got up this morning to go for a surf. No surf, so thought I’d shoot some stuff to see what the new camera is like on the 4S. Got home, looked at the footage, and couldn’t believe it came out of a phone. Was so excited so thought I’d quickly cut a vid to share the goodness. It’s actually amazing. The automatic stabilisation seems to work wonders, and gets rid of most the jello. Depth of field is flipping awesome. Colours are really good straight out the camera, but I did give this footage a slight grade.

I have to agree, it looks really good. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but: I can’t wait to get my hands on the 4S. Music in the video is “Blach” by Elks of Envy. Searched on YouTube but I couldn’t find the track or anything from them.

Three really good Star Wars documentaries made by Jamie Benning. The creator of these films is just like me; a Star Wars junkie. Each video is well over two hours so you better set aside a lot of time to get through all three of them. But it’s worth it, trust me. The films are packed with deleted scenes, alternate takes, behind the scenes, commentary from the crew and cast members and loads of other fun stuff. I like the fact that they are made by a fan and that this work is credited as “unofficial” — it’s not the usual boring “straight from the studio” PR let’s make an extra buck production.
