A lot of videos lately. I like nice music videos, that’s why. This sort of new (3 months old) animated video was created by painting 2000 watercolor sheets/frames. The video is 2:30 minutes long, that means 13.3 frames a second. That’s roughly half the amount used in video on the net; 30 fps (frames per second) and TV; 25 fps and movies at the cinema; 24 fps.

Breakbot aka Thibaut Berland is a French producer (what else did you expect?) and DJ. I don’t really like the song but I do like the video. It’s nice to see artists using traditional techniques instead of having software do all the work. I know there’s no magic button to press when working with computers but doing a thing like this in a video editing application would have been a hell of a lot easier. Wizz, the company behind the Breakbot video did the post production for the WWF ad that’s currently floating about all over the net. Have a look:
