My new monitor (Acer S273HLAbmii) is rather huge with its 27 inches. It’s a monster and it’s great for gaming and just about anything else. It’s full HD with a 1920 x 1080 pixels, perfect for video. Don’t know why I mentioned gaming — maybe because I downloaded UT3: Black Edition through Steam. Oh, how I’ve missed the UT universe — too bad I’m getting my ass kicked in multiplayer mode. Better get to it and practice a bit more.

It just sat there booting up when turning it on and then it shut itself down before the boot process was complete. Lyckily I’ve been pretty adamant in keeping backups of important documents, photos and mp3′s. I was without a computer for a full 24 hours (granted, I kept my iPhone close at hand) and then I went and bought a new computer. A PC! The brand is Acer and it’s called Aspire Predator 3610 (Intel Core i5-2320 processor/3 GHz, Nvidia GeForce GT545 graphics card, 8GB RAM and a 1 TB HDD). I opted for a brace yourself; desktop. I felt I needed a powerfull workstation and this computer is fast — Photoshop CS5 starts in 1.5 seconds. Not that I have Photoshop, it’s way to expensive. I’m looking forward to installing Sony Vegas and Sony Acid — I got a promo code from a friend and I might order their Imagination Suite (or whatever it’s called). Also looking forward to installing a few games. The only remnant from my Mac days are iTunes, I need that for the iPhone, I’m listening to music as I type this and I’m naturally using Winamp — not iTunes. I was a bit worried that the computer would be loud but it’s really quiet. Well, that’s about it for this post.

I’m really fed up with Marina at this point — it’s been a bit too much lately with the whole pre-album release PR (she kind of masters PR at this point) and different acoustic versions of several tracks. I’m just full, like you’d be after a really good meal.

I had a listen to the new album and it shines in parts but the overall product is dare I say it… not top notch. I know it’s supposed to be plastic and a bit superficial but that makes it sound and feel really bland. The two tracks I really like are “Lies” and “Teen Idle”; they both remind me of olden Marina, the olden Marina that I loved so dearly. I think I’ll just go back to her earlier stuff.

So, about the two videos on top on this post; have a listen to Marina as she talks about each track on the new album and say it with me: “We love you Marina but we hope you go back to basics on your next album, you excel at that and this guy Fred likes it the way you sounded in the olden days!”.

Don’t be mad at me Marina.
