I’m really fed up with Marina at this point — it’s been a bit too much lately with the whole pre-album release PR (she kind of masters PR at this point) and different acoustic versions of several tracks. I’m just full, like you’d be after a really good meal.

I had a listen to the new album and it shines in parts but the overall product is dare I say it… not top notch. I know it’s supposed to be plastic and a bit superficial but that makes it sound and feel really bland. The two tracks I really like are “Lies” and “Teen Idle”; they both remind me of olden Marina, the olden Marina that I loved so dearly. I think I’ll just go back to her earlier stuff.

So, about the two videos on top on this post; have a listen to Marina as she talks about each track on the new album and say it with me: “We love you Marina but we hope you go back to basics on your next album, you excel at that and this guy Fred likes it the way you sounded in the olden days!”.

Don’t be mad at me Marina.

I was really about to quit posting about Marina — it’s been a bit much lately with all the different versions and stuff. But I can’t stop, it’s too good. This video is currently unlisted at YouTube so you are one of the first to see it (if you choose to click “play” that is).

So, I waited until she uploaded it herself — that way I can be sure it’ll stay up and not be taken down due to copyright infringement. I’m not even sure I have heard this version yet — good thing I’m posting it, Increases the chances of me listening to it!

I posted this track a few posts ago but I think it deserves its own post. Trust is Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski. Last.fm states that the band is from Toronto and that they formed on 2009. That’s pretty much all I know at this point. Maybe I should start interviewing artists to find out more about them? Anyway, this track is really good.

Brand new track/”video” from Marina. Only 303 views on YouTube as of yet. I really don’t know what to think of this track. I like the talking parts — others have mentioned Madonna and The Pet Shop Boys here — but the other main part of the track, weeeeeeell, I really don’t know. Anyway, it’s a new track from marinas upcoming album and that means I have to post it. I might change my mind about this track in a while — I’ve been known to do just that before…

No new posts from me the last few days. That’s just the way it is. This post: A brand new track — released on Jan 17 — from MNDR, the American duo consisting of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. I’m really not sure if they are still a duo though, or if Amanda (MNDR) is going at it as a solo act, but that’s what Wikipedia says anyways. If you feel like buying it; click here to go to the record label. I can listen (and I do) to this track on repeat. Mostly because it’s good but also because my temporary neighbor is seemingly 99% deaf; his TV is constantly blasting through the wall.

I found this track at the end of December. Had I made a best of list for 2011 this track would have been in there for sure. Only info on YouTube: “One Second Of Love is out 3/3 on Secretly Canadian.” More info @ the record label.
