More Downtime

November 28th, 2011

So, the blog — and my domain — have been acting up again. It’s been slow, messy, unresponsive and even completely down the last few days. I got tired of it eventually and sent a (almost) angry message to my hosting provider. I just got a reply saying it’s up and running again. Don’t know if they did anything or if everything just magically healed itself. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience mess and welcome back!

Serious Downtime

October 10th, 2011

OK, the blog has been down for about 24 hours. Not my fault. I sent an inquiring email to my hosting provider and got the message that it was back up. Some time later it was — and now I’m able to blog again. It’s frustrating when stuff like this happens and I’m sorry.

Test: Trying out iResize for iPhone

March 13th, 2011

Woke up bright and early again today, if you count 7:45am as early on a Sunday that is. So, a Sunday morning in bed can still be productive (damn, I sound like Lifehacker.com) and that means trying out new apps for the iPhone. iResize does two things; rotate and resize images. You can do a manual resize or set a specific “quick resize”, in my case 560 x 420px (weird, the pic was resized to 541px instead of 560px, have to look into that) to fit the theme of this blog. Now, let’s see if it works — and one more thing before I go; good morning to you all! Will add links when I’m in front of a proper computer. Oh, and the pic I uploaded is just something I shot when waiting on a train. Camera app: ClassicTOY. More on that amazing little app in the not to distant future.

Fredstuff – New Blog Look

February 2nd, 2011

Dear reader. I love to tinker with WordPress and from time to time I change the blog theme. I know I will change it again some day, that’s why I included a (small) screenshot of the current look. I went with a dark theme, it’s way easier on the eyes. Read my blog and your Facebook headache will be nothing but a distant memory. Seriously though, I’ve spent a few hours getting this (current) them to my linking and as usual I stumbled, broke things and almost lost it.

All this trouble means that I now know even more when it comes to WordPress. A few things remain to be implemented; social links, some additional CSS and PHP work and the sidebar needs some extra tweaking. I do all of this for myself — and for you, my readers. I hope you like what you see, I know I do. Even more important is the fact that I enjoy blogging again. I believe I did mention that I’d pick up the pace around New Years — as a way to kind of “pressure” myself into actually doing it. Here I am, typing away like (almost) never before. I even got the few upcoming posts in the works. Let’s do this!

UPDATE: Well, that design did not last very long — it was smart of me to include a shot of the way it looked. Back to the trusty, old (and still modern) theme.

Test post WordPress for iOS

February 1st, 2011

I’m trying out posting from my iPhone. Hope it works. Will also upload a photo.

Looks OK in preview, pressing “Publish” now.

UPDATE: It worked. Typing this from my laptop. Just thought I’d add a link to the app.
